Regular Season Round 10: Visby - Northland 51-97
Date: November 27, 2012
Very expected game when 10th ranked Visby Ladies (2-8) were crushed at home by fifth ranked Northland (6-3) 97-51. The game without a history. Northland led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Visby Ladies' 30. Northland forced 27 Visby Ladies turnovers and outrebounded them 36-24 including 22 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of international guard Frida Aili (179-88) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 4 steals. The former international power forward Anna Barthold (185-80, college: St.Peter's, agency: Josep and Nicolas) contributed with 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Five Northland players scored in double figures. American guard Michele Miller (180-85, college: Xavier) replied with 16 points and 4 steals and her fellow American import point guard Taylor Wencis added 16 points in the effort for Visby Ladies. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Northland have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Visby Ladies lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with eight games lost. Northland's next round opponent will be IK Eos (#8) in Lund where they are favorite. Visby Ladies will play on the road against Mark Basket in Kinna.
