Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Correcaminos (10-17) and Gansos (5-23), which took place in . Higher ranked Correcaminos lost to fifteenth ranked Gansos in a road game 94-109. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Correcaminos. It looked good early as Correcaminos took an 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Gansos had a 24-13 second period charge getting the lead and Correcaminos were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 94-109. Gansos players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. American players dominated the game. The best player for the winners was guard Shannon Shorter (193-89, college: N.Texas) who scored 35 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 9 assists. Swingman Royce Gaye (193-88, college: Tex.A&M-Kingsv.) chipped in 15 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Gansos players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Rodney Alexander (201-87, college: Oklahoma City) who recorded a double-double by scoring 25 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Myron Allen (182-79, college: Lee JC) added 23 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists (went 12 for 12 at the free throw line !!!) respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Gansos moved-up to fourteenth place. Correcaminos at the other side keep the eleventh position with 17 games lost. Gansos' next round opponent will be higher ranked Huracanes (#9) in Tampico and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
