The game in Prince George supposed to be also quite interesting. Third ranked Alberta (5-4) played at the court of 5th ranked UNBC (3-6). Alberta smashed UNBC 87-45 on Thursday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 15-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 87-45. Alberta dominated on the defensive end, holding UNBC to just 4 points in fourth quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to UNBC's 30. Alberta forced 30 UNBC turnovers. The best player for the winners was forward Kendra Asleson (183-91) who scored 21 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Anneka Bakker (186-90) chipped in 9 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Emily Kaehn who recorded a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and Kady Dandeneau added 7 points respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Alberta maintains third position with 5-4 record having just 0 points less than leader UFV. UNBC lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth place with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
