An interesting game for Soles (22-5) which hosted in Mexicali 3rd placed Halcones Rojos (20-7). Second ranked Soles managed to get a 13-point victory 80-67. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-67. It was an exceptional evening for American center Kentrell Gransberry (206-85, college: S.Florida) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds. The former international forward Roman Martinez (201-88, college: N.Mexico) accounted for 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Five Soles players scored in double figures. Venezuelan power forward Luis Bethelmy (200-86) came up with 13 points and 7 rebounds and American-Panamanian guard Danilo Pinnock (196-83, college: G.Washington) added 14 points respectively for Halcones Rojos in the defeat. Halcones Rojos' coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Soles maintains second place with 22-5 record having just two points less than leader Halc.Xalapa. Loser Halcones Rojos keep the third position with seven games lost. They share it with Toros. Soles will meet at home league's leader Halcones UV Xalapa in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Halcones Rojos will play against Pioneros in Cancun and hope to secure a win.
