Regular Season Round 9: Tsmoki-Minsk II - Rubon 63-87

An exciting game was played in Minsk. Third ranked Rubon faced 4th placed Tsmoki-Minsk II. Guests from Vitebsk (6-3) smashed host Tsmoki-Minsk II (4-4) 87-63. The game without a history. Rubon led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 35 Tsmoki-Minsk II turnovers. Strangely Tsmoki-Minsk II outrebounded Rubon 46-29 including a 26-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. 26 personal fouls committed by Tsmoki-Minsk II helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Dmitri Akulich (190-86) who scored 22 points and 6 assists. Russian guard Anton Indrikov (193-87) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds. Akulich is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Rubon players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Lithuanian forward Ronaldas Rutkauskas (203-92) who recorded a double-double by scoring 24 points and 18 rebounds and forward Aliaksandr Semianiuk (207-93) added 9 points and 7 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rubon maintains third place with 6-3 record having just one points less than leader Grodno-93. Tsmoki-Minsk II at the other side keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Rubon will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
