Rather expected game when 5th ranked Varsity Reds (3-4) were smashed by leader Capers (6-0) in Fredericton, NB 96-77 on Friday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 96-77. Capers dominated on the defensive end, holding Varsity Reds to just 5 points in fourth quarter. They made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Varsity Reds 40-24 including a 27-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Quite impressive performance for American guard Jimmy Dorsey (188) who helped to win the game recording 25 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Guard Shaquille Keith (196) contributed with 25 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Five Capers players scored in double figures. Guard William Mc Fee (190) answered with 25 points and forward Jordan Irvine (193) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Varsity Reds. Varsity Reds' coach let to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Capers. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Acadia.
