There was no surprise when bottom-ranked Warriors (0-6) were outleveled by second ranked Ravens (6-1) in Waterloo, ON 73-43 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Ravens. Warriors was better in fourth quarter 15-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Warriors to just 6 points in first quarter and to 13 points in first half. They outrebounded Warriors 43-21 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Quite impressive performance for forward Thomas Scrubb (196) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. International forward Tyson Hinz (198-91) contributed with 9 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Denham Buchanan answered with 21 points and forward Kyrie Coleman added 8 points in the effort for Warriors. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Ravens. They maintain second place with 6-1 record having just -3 victories less than leader Ryerson, which they share with Ottawa. Warriors lost their sixth game in a row. They still closes the standings with six games lost. Ravens will face Golden Hawks (#3) in Waterloo, ON in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Warriors will play at home against Gee-Gees (#3) in Ottawa, ON and hope to get finally their first victory.
