We should mention about the upset which took place in Charleville, where higher ranked Nantes (5-7) lost to fifteenth ranked Charleville-Mezieres (4-8) in a road game 76-86 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Charleville-Mezieres. Nantes managed to win fourth quarter 31-27. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Charleville-Mezieres made 29-of-37 free shots (78.4 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Nantes turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Patrick Sanders (198-85, college: Cal-Irvine) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and 7 rebounds and Lithuanian forward Vaidotas Pridotkas (200-84) who added 20 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American power forward James Mathis (200-84, college: Niagara, agency: Court Side) with 12 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Terrance Henry (208-89, college: Mississippi, agency: Pro One Sports) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Five Nantes players scored in double figures. Nantes' coach Guillaume Quintard rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Charleville-Mezieres maintains fifteenth position with 4-8 record, which they share with Denain. Loser Nantes dropped to the tenth place with seven games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. Charleville-Mezieres will meet league's second-placed Olympique Antibes on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Nantes will play against JL Bourg (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
