The game between fourth ranked Toros (20-7) and 10th ranked Barreteros (11-16) in Nuevo Laredo on Friday ended with biggest points difference. Toros beat guests from Zacatecas 100-84. The game was mostly controlled by Toros. Barreteros was better in fourth quarter 22-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Four Toros players scored in double figures. American forward Jerome Habel (208-85, college: San Diego St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import guard Jason Horton (188-86, college: Missouri) added 11 points and 6 assists in the effort for Barreteros. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Toros moved-up to third place, which they share with Halc.Rojos. Barreteros lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 16 games lost. Toros will face Panteras (#5) in Aguascalientes in the next round. Barreteros will play on the road against Fuerza Regia (#7) in Monterrey.
