Important game to mention about took place in Santiado Estero. Eighth ranked Atenas (11-9) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 7th ranked Quimsa (11-9) 80-78 in the fight for the sixth place. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Quimsa. The guests were ahead by 2 points but lost the second period ending it with a 4-point deficit before their 28-22 run, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Bruno Colli (175-92) who helped to win the game recording 17 points. The former international swingman Matias Lescano (196-79) contributed with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five Atenas players scored in double figures. Naturalized Italian center Damian Tintorelli (204-81, agency: Players Group) answered with 15 points and 9 rebounds and American-Puerto Rican guard Javier Mojica (190-84, college: Cent.Conn.St., agency: Paris Global Sports) added 15 points in the effort for Quimsa. Quimsa's coach Fabio Demti tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Atenas. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Argentino and Quimsa. Atenas will play against higher ranked Libertad Sunchales (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Quimsa will play against Olimpico de La Banda and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
