Rather predictable result when third ranked Adelaide Lightning (7-4) defeated at home 6th ranked Townsville Fire (5-6) 90-75 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 16-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 90-75. Adelaide Lightning made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Adelaide Lightning outrebounded Townsville Fire 38-24 including 26 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Adelaide Lightning made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was the former international center Suzy Batkovic-Brown (195-80) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks.
