There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Canberra Capitals (5-6) were defeated at home by seventh ranked Logan Thunder (4-7) 74-59 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Logan Thunder. Canberra Capitals managed to win third quarter 19-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Logan Thunder forced 22 Canberra Capitals turnovers. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Kristen Veal (176-81) who scored 13 points, 8 assists and 5 steals. American forward Lindsay Laur (182-87, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international guard Jessica Bibby (169-79) who recorded 14 points and power forward Samantha Norwood (188-89, college: Stony Brook) added 8 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Canberra Capitals' coach rotated eleven players saving starting five for next games. Logan Thunder maintains seventh place with 4-7 record. Canberra Capitals lost their third game in a row. They keep the fifth position with six games lost. They share it with Townsville F..
