Regular Season Round 13: Ryerson - Brock 57-60

Everything went according to plan when leader Brock (6-0) edged 6th ranked Ryerson (2-5) in Toronto 60-57 on Friday. Ryerson trailed by 13 points at halftime and as many as 17 after three quarters before a 22-8 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 57-60 at the end of the game. Brock dominated on the defensive end, holding Ryerson to just 6 points in first quarter. They also forced 28 Ryerson turnovers and had a 32-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for forward Nicole Rosenkranz (185) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Jenalyn Yumol (173) contributed with 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. point guard Cassandra Nofuente (175) answered with 18 points and 5 rebounds and forward Kelsey Wright (170) added 23 points in the effort for Ryerson. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Brock have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain second place with 6-0 record behind leader UFV. Ryerson lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with five games lost. Brock will have a break next round. Ryerson will play at home against McMaster (#7) in Hamilton and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
