The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated San Martino (9-1) in San Martino di L on Saturday night. Hosts were edged by tenth ranked San Salvatore (4-6) 59-56. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of San Martino. San Martino was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 20-14 charge of San Salvatore, which allowed them to win the game. San Salvatore had a 25-11 advantage in offensive rebounds. Bulgarian forward Roksana Yordanova (184-84) had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Anna Lussu (163-85) chipped in 16 points during the contest. At the losing side the former international power forward Martina Sandri (185-88) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds and guard Maria Pegoraro (174-89) scored 7 points and 5 assists. Newly promoted San Salvatore maintains tenth position in North with 4-6 record. San Martino at the other side still keeps top place with one game lost. They share the position with Umana Reyer. San Salvatore are looking forward to face Biassono (#13) at home in the next round. San Martino will play against Muggia (#9) and is hoping to win this game.
