The game in Tochigi was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Toshiba Thunders (10-8) played at the court of 7th ranked Tochigi Brex (4-14). Toshiba Thunders managed to secure a 8-point victory 68-60 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-15. But Tochigi Brex won second period 15-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Toshiba Thunders dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Tochigi Brex's 28. The best player for the winners was American forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 19 rebounds. point guard Ryusei Shinoyama (178-88) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was international guard Takuya Kawamura (193-86) who recorded 16 points and 5 rebounds and American power forward Tyler Smith (203-80, college: Penn St.) added 10 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Toshiba Thunders maintains fourth place with 10-8 record. Tochigi Brex lost their third game in a row. They keep the seventh position with 14 games lost. Toshiba Thunders will face league's second-placed Aishin Sea Horses in Kariya in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tochigi Brex will play at home against Hokkaido L. (#8) in Saporro and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
