Regular Season Round 11: UMKS Kielce - Stal Ostrow 68-77

Everything went according to plan when third ranked Stal Ostrow (8-3) defeated on the road 15th ranked UMKS Kielce (3-8) 77-68 on Saturday. UMKS Kielce trailed by 15 points after 3 quarters before a 21-15 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 68-77 at the end of the game. It was an exceptional evening for power forward Wojciech Zurawski (199-76) who led the winners and scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. The former international forward Wojciech Szawarski (195-76) accounted for 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Four Stal Ostrow players scored in double figures. Guard Artur Busz (194-88) came up with 18 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Hubert Makuch (179-85) added 11 points and 5 assists respectively for UMKS Kielce in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Stal Ostrow moved-up to second place, which they share with AZS Kutno. UMKS Kielce lost their third game in a row. UMKS Kielce at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fourteenth position with eight games lost. They share it with SKK Siedlce. Stal Ostrow will meet at home league's second-placed AZS Kutno in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. UMKS Kielce will play against WIKANA Start (#13) in Lublin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
