The game between closely ranked teams ended with ninth ranked Tokyo Cinq R.'s (6-9) home victory over 10th ranked Saitama Broncos (2-9) 89-87 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 17 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 2 points. Tokyo Cinq R. outrebounded Saitama Broncos 58-38 including a 32-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Saitama Broncos were plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Jonathan Jones (211-79, agency: TSS Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 21 rebounds and guard Kenji Sato (180-79) who added 11 points and 19 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American swingman John Humphrey (188-80, college: Middle Tenn.St., agency: Court Side) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and his fellow American import forward Dameion Baker (192-78, college: Mount Olive) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Tokyo Cinq R. moved-up to eighth place. Loser Saitama Broncos keep the tenth position with nine games lost. Tokyo Cinq R. will face again Saitama Broncos (#10) at home in the next round.
