Regular Season Round 14: Waterloo - Ottawa 72-82

There was no surprise in Waterloo, ON where bottom-ranked Warriors (0-7) were defeated by third ranked Gee-Gees (7-1) 82-72 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Gee-Gees. Warriors was better in second period 15-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Guard Johnny Berhanemeskel (185) scored 22 points to lead the charge for the winners and international guard Warren Ward (196-89) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Forward Kyrie Coleman responded with 27 points and Denham Buchanan scored 9 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gee-Gees have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Carleton. Loser Warriors still closes the standings with seven games lost. Gee-Gees will face Lions (#6) in Toronto, ON in the next round. Warriors will play at home against the league's second-placed Thunderwolves in Thunder Bay, ON and hope to get finally their first victory.
