Everything could happen in Madrid at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Asefa Estudiantes and 9th ranked Blusens Monbus had identical 5-4 record. This time Asefa Estudiantes used a home court advantage and outscored the opponent from Santoago de Comp 89-66 on Saturday night. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Asefa Estudiantes made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. Blusens Monbus was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Canadian guard Carl English (192-81, college: Hawaii) scored 39 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and center German Gabriel (207-80) chipped in 13 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest.
