AGOR (#5) forced the game against PAOK (#4) into an overtime, but lost by six points 85-91 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of AGOR. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But AGOR won fourth quarter 25-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where AGOR used huge pressure winning it 25-20 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 9-15. PAOK dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to AGOR's 26 and made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percent) during the game. AGOR was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. American-Irish guard Donnie McGrath (193-84, college: Providence) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points and 5 assists. The former international center Lazaros Papadopoulos (210-80) contributed with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. point guard Apollona Tsochlas (189-83) replied with 18 points and American guard Paris Horne (191-87, college: St.John's) added 16 points in the effort for AGOR. Four AGOR players scored in double figures. AGOR's coach Stergios Koufos rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. PAOK (6-2) have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Panathinaikos. AGOR at the other side keeps the fifth position with three games lost. PAOK will face Ilysiakos (#13) in Athens in the next round and are hoping to win another game. AGOR will play at home against the league's leader Olympiacos (#1) in Athens.
