Rather predictable result in Mikawa where fourth ranked Hamamatsu Phoenix (10-7) defeated 8th ranked Takamatsu FA (4-9) 74-57 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Hamamatsu Phoenix. Takamatsu FA was better in third quarter 20-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Hamamatsu Phoenix won last quarter 29-14. They also forced 20 Takamatsu FA turnovers. The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-85, college: Florida Atlantic, agency: Top Notch Sports) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Kevin Galloway (200-88, college: Texas Southern, agency: Top Notch Sports) who added 10 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Hamamatsu Phoenix's coach Ryuji Kawai used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the losing side power forward Robert Johnson (203-81, college: Oregon) responded with 10 points and 9 rebounds and forward Brandon Penn (203-90, college: Rider, agency: I.D.S. Law) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Hamamatsu Phoenix moved-up to second place, which they share with Toyama Grouses. Takamatsu FA lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with nine games lost. Hamamatsu Phoenix will face again Takamatsu FA (#8) at home in the next round where they are favorite.
