Regular Season Round 11: Souffel - Quimper 52-56

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Souffelweyersheim (8-2) in Souffel. on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by fifth ranked Quimper UJAP (7-3) 56-52. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Souffelweyersheim. Souffelweyersheim was trailing by 6 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 9-3 charge of Quimper UJAP, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Souffelweyersheim to just 3 points in fourth quarter. It was a great evening for Nigerian forward Corey Raji (198-88, college: Boston Coll., agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 9 rebounds. Swingman Florian Thibedore (193-90) helped adding 13 points and 4 assists. Guard Frederic Minet (188-81) responded with 7 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and naturalized Senegalese swingman Mouhamadou M'Bodji (193-81) scored 9 points and 5 rebounds. Quimper UJAP moved-up to fourth place. Souffelweyersheim at the other side dropped to the second position with two games lost. They share it with Cognac. Quimper UJAP are looking forward to face Vendee Challans (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Souffelweyersheim will play against the league's leader Orchesien BC (#1) in Orchies and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
