SM-sarja top team - Catz Lappeenranta (12-1) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed ninth ranked TuRi (3-10) 87-42. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of TuRi. The game without a history. Catz Lappeenranta led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Catz Lappeenranta forced 24 TuRi turnovers and outrebounded them 46-34 including 19 on the offensive glass. American Chandrea Jones (175-87, college: Syracuse, agency: LBM Management) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points and 7 rebounds. Russian power forward Jelena Reshetko (184-86) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Five Catz Lappeenranta players scored in double figures. American forward Callan Taylor (182-90, college: Sacred Heart) answered with 8 points and 13 rebounds and center Margaret Makela (181-90) added 8 points in the effort for TuRi. Defending champion maintains first place with 12-1 record. Newly promoted TuRi keeps the ninth position with ten games lost. Catz Lappeenranta are looking forward to face Forssan Alku (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. TuRi will play against Torpan Pojat (#4) in Helsinki and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
