Bottom-ranked Sydney Uni Flames managed to get a second victory, breaking the series of three consecutive loses. This time they won against seventh-ranked Logan Thunder 81-67. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Logan Thunder. Logan Thunder was ahead by 6 points at the halftime before a 52-32 second half run of Sydney Uni Flames. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Logan Thunder's 30. They outrebounded Logan Thunder 40-29 including 27 on the defensive glass. Guard Kate Ebzery (177-90) nailed 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and international guard Alicia Poto (166-78) accounted for 13 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Five Sydney Uni Flames players scored in double figures. American guard Laurie Koehn (173-82, college: Kansas St.) came up with 16 points and New Zealand forward Natalie Taylor (182-84, college: SE Missouri St.) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Logan Thunder in the defeat. Sydney Uni Flames (2-9) moved-up to eighth place. Logan Thunder at the other side keeps the seventh position with seven games lost. Sydney Uni Flames will play against higher ranked Canberra Capitals (#6) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Logan Thunder will play against Townsville Fire and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
