Regular Season Round 14: Winnipeg - TRU 52-72

Rather expected game when 6th ranked Winnipeg (4-6) was crushed at home by fourth ranked Thompson Rivers (6-3) 72-52 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 11-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 72-52. Center Diane Schuetze (191) had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Tracy Kocs (178) chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four Thompson Rivers players scored in double figures. Guard Stephanie Kleysen (175) responded with 9 points and 10 rebounds and forward Alyssa Grant (183) scored 12 points. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Thompson Rivers moved-up to third place. Winnipeg at the other side keeps the sixth position with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
