Regular Season Round 21: Fujitsu RW - Aishin AW 53-54

The most exciting game of round 21 in the WJBL took place in Kawasaki. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of second-best Fujitsu RW (15-4) to eighth ranked Aishin Wings (7-12) 54-53 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Fujitsu RW. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 28-23 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was forward Yuka Maeda (173-84) who scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Power forward Shiyu Sato (178-87) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. Aishin Wings' coach Yamada Kagari used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was international power forward Megumi Shinohara (184-91) who recorded 13 points and 8 rebounds and international forward Moeko Nagaoka (180-93) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Aishin Wings moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Denso Iris. Fujitsu RW at the other side keeps the second position with four games lost. They share it with Chanson V-M. Aishin Wings will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Fujitsu RW will play again on the road against Aishin Wings in Anjo and is hoping to win this game.
