Regular Season Round 11: Vichy - Angers BC 49 64-51

Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked JA Vichy (7-4) beat at home 9th ranked Angers BC 49 (4-5) 64-51 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by JA Vichy. Angers BC 49 managed to win third quarter 16-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Angers BC 49 33-22 including 23 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Octavio Da Silveira (204-89) who scored 20 points and 6 rebounds. point guard Rida El Amrani (180-86) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals. American forward Anthony Hill (204-88, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) produced 11 points and 5 rebounds and naturalized Algerian point guard Ahmed Fellah (180-81) added 4 points and 8 assists respectively for the guests. Angers BC 49's coach Vincent Lavandier rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the third consecutive win for JA Vichy. They moved-up to fifth place. Loser Angers BC 49 keeps the ninth position with five games lost. JA Vichy will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Angers BC 49 will play against Rueil (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
