Regular Season Round 14: Asker Aliens - Baerum Basket 82-84

Important game to mention about took place in Asker. Fifth ranked Baerum Basket (6-6) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 6th ranked Asker Aliens (4-9) 84-82 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Asker Aliens. Asker Aliens were ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 17-12 third quarter run of Baerum Basket. They shot 60.4 percent from the field. American forward Keith Thompson (197-90, college: Utah Valley) notched 38 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and Sigurd Staver (199-94) supported him with 18 points. Even a double-double of 18 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) by DR Congolese power forward Djo Yele (-82) did not help to save the game for Asker Aliens. Guard Joachim Bohn (187-91) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the hosts. Five Asker Aliens players scored in double figures. Baerum Basket moved-up to fourth place. Asker Aliens at the other side keep the sixth position with nine games lost. Baerum Basket will play against higher ranked Gimle BBK (#3) in Bergen in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Asker Aliens will play at home against the league's second-placed Centrum in Oslo and hope to get back on the winning track.
