The game between closely ranked teams ended with seventh ranked Cape Breton's (2-5) road victory over 8th ranked UNB (1-7) 71-52 on Saturday. The game without a history. Cape Breton led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Cape Breton forced 29 UNB turnovers. Guard Tanira McClurkin (163) scored 18 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Colleen Keane (175) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Guard Laura Fowler (170) responded with 17 points and center Rachel Cleary (182) scored 8 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cape Breton moved-up to sixth place.
