Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked GTK Gliwice (6-2) outscored at home 6th ranked Sudety (4-4) 93-71 on Sunday. The game without a history. GTK Gliwice led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 62.7 percent from the field. GTK Gliwice outrebounded Sudety 35-21 including a 29-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Sudety's players. The former international forward Pawel Wiekiera (206-78) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and guard Piotr Pustelnik (183-83, agency: Promotex) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Four GTK Gliwice players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Rafal Niesobski (189-82) with 22 points and point guard Michal Kozak (179-92) scored 6 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for GTK Gliwice. They moved-up to second place in Group B, which they share with Tychy and AZS AWF K-ce. Loser Sudety keeps the sixth position with four games lost. GTK Gliwice will face Wschowa (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sudety will play against Nysa Klodzko (#10) in Kloszko.
