Very expected game when 11th ranked Hitachi Cougars (4-16) were smashed by fifth ranked Mitsubishi K. (14-6) in Hitachinaka 77-53. The game without a history. Mitsubishi K. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Mitsubishi K. outrebounded Hitachi Cougars 58-29 including a 22-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Center Enjin Wantsu (189-87) fired a double-double by scoring 30 points and 22 rebounds for the winners. Guard Yasuko Hashimoto (163-82) chipped in 17 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Four Mitsubishi K. players scored in double figures. Mitsubishi K.'s coach Yuuki Yamashita felt very confident using 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest.
