Very expected game in Hyvinkaa where 11th ranked HyPo (1-12) was defeated by sixth ranked Aanekosken (8-6) 61-55. The guests were already 13 points ahead at halftime and as many as 16 after three quarters before a 24-14 last quarter charge of HyPo cut the lead to 61-55 at the end of the game. Aanekosken dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to HyPo's 26. Aanekosken forced 23 HyPo turnovers. American center Kenya Robinson (182-70, college: New Orleans) notched a double-double by scoring 25 points and 13 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import forward Swayze Black (190-89, college: LSU, agency: Merit Sports) supported her with 11 points and 13 rebounds. Even a double-double of 23 points and 12 rebounds by U.S. Virgin Islands-American swingman Natalie Day (182-90, college: Portland) did not help to save the game for HyPo. American forward Phebe Smith (183, college: Columbus St., agency: Gamble Sports Management) added 12 points and 14 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aanekosken moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Honka. HyPo lost eleventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Aanekosken will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. HyPo will play on the road against the league's leader Catz Lappeenranta (#1) to get more than just one victory in their record.
