Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Tel-Aviv: Maccabi T-A (#1) and Hapoel Tel-Aviv (#4). Maccabi T-A (7-1) smashed visiting Hapoel Tel-Aviv (4-3) by 19 points 91-72. The game without a history. Maccabi T-A led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Maccabi T-A forced 19 Hapoel Tel-Aviv turnovers. His fellow American import power forward Jeff Allen (201-87, college: Virginia Tech) added 14 points and 13 rebounds for the guests. Maccabi T-A have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 7-1 record. Newly promoted Hapoel Tel-Aviv dropped to the fifth place with three games lost. They share the position with Maccabi Rishon. Maccabi T-A will play against GreenTops Netanya (#4) on the road in the next round. Hapoel Tel-Aviv will play against Hapoel Holon and hopes to get back on the winning track.
