Rather predictable result when eighth ranked Tokyo Cinq R. (7-9) beat at home 10th ranked Saitama Broncos (2-10) 97-88 on Sunday. Saitama Broncos trailed by 12 points at halftime and as many as 16 after three quarters before a 32-25 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 88-97 at the end of the game. Tokyo Cinq R. outrebounded Saitama Broncos 43-29 including 32 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American center Jonathan Jones (211-79, agency: TSS Management) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists. Guard Cohey Aoki (167-80) chipped in 23 points and 7 rebounds. American forward Dameion Baker (192-78, college: Mount Olive) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds and guard Yuki Kitamuki (184-85) added 23 points respectively for the guests. Four Tokyo Cinq R. and five Saitama Broncos players scored in double figures. Tokyo Cinq R. maintains eighth place with 7-9 record. Saitama Broncos lost their third game in a row. They keep the tenth position with ten games lost. Tokyo Cinq R. will have a break next round. Saitama Broncos will play at home against the league's second-placed Iwate Big Bulls (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
