We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 11th ranked Fileni BPA Jesi (3-6) was defeated at home by twelfth ranked Prima Veroli (3-6) 69-64 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 40-33 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Prima Veroli forced 19 Fileni BPA Jesi turnovers. The best player for the winners was Latvian swingman Mareks Jurevicus (197-85) who scored 20 points. American point guard Erving Walker (172-90, college: Florida) chipped in 15 points. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international center Michele Maggioli (212-77) who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and 17 rebounds and American forward Eric Griffin (203-90, college: Campbell) added 15 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Prima Veroli moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with defeated Fileni BPA Jesi. Fileni BPA Jesi lost third consecutive game. Prima Veroli will face league's second-placed Biancoblu BO in Bologna in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
