The game in Starogard was also quite interesting. Seventh ranked Asseco Prok. (6-3) played at the court of 8th ranked Polpharma (3-7). Asseco Prok. managed to secure a 5-point victory 82-77 on Sunday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Polpharma won fourth quarter 29-27. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Polpharma 36-25 including 26 on the defensive glass. The former international point guard Lukasz Koszarek (187-84) scored 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Austrian-Slovenian center Rasid Mahalbasic (211-90) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side the former international forward Lukasz Majewski (199-82) responded with 25 points and naturalized Belgian center Aleksander Lichodzijewski (202-84) scored 12 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Defending champion moved-up to fifth place. Loser Polpharma keeps the eighth position with seven games lost. They share it with Kotwica and Start Gdynia. Asseco Prok. will meet at home higher ranked Trefl Sopot (#3) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Polpharma will play against the league's leader PGE Turow (#1) in Zgorzelec and hope to secure a win.
