Regular Season Round 17: Hamamatsu P. - Takamatsu FA 91-72
Date: December 2, 2012
There was no surprise in Mikawa where 8th ranked Takamatsu FA (4-10) was crushed by second ranked Hamamatsu Phoenix (11-7) 91-72 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Hamamatsu Phoenix. Takamatsu FA was better in fourth quarter 23-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Takamatsu FA 45-31 including 17 on the offensive glass. American players dominated the game. The best player for the winners was forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-85, college: Florida Atlantic, agency: Top Notch Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. point guard Kevin Galloway (200-88, college: Texas Southern, agency: Top Notch Sports) chipped in 20 points and 8 rebounds. Five Hamamatsu Phoenix players scored in double figures. Hamamatsu Phoenix's coach Ryuji Kawai used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Swingman Dexter Lyons (198-81, college: Cent.Florida, agency: I.D.S. Law) produced 27 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and power forward Paul Williams (208-83, college: St.Bonaventure, agency: I.D.S. Law) added 13 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Despite that victory Hamamatsu Phoenix went down to third position due to points difference, which they share with Toyama Grouses. Loser Takamatsu FA keeps the eighth place with ten games lost. Hamamatsu Phoenix will face Miyazaki Shining Suns (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Takamatsu FA will play against Oita Heat Devils.
