Regular Season Round 8: Maccabi Rishon - Hapoel J-M 81-86

There was a small surprise in Rishon Le-Zion where seventh ranked Hapoel J-M (4-4) defeated 5th ranked Maccabi Rishon (4-3) 86-81. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 17-10. But Maccabi Rishon won second period 23-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hapoel J-M made 23-of-26 charity shots (88.5 percent) during the game. American Josh Duncan (203-86) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points (was perfect 12-for-12 from the free throw line !!!). American-Georgian point guard Jacob Pullen (185-89, college: Kansas St.) contributed with 17 points and 9 assists for the winners. Jamaican-American power forward Adrian Uter (200-84, college: Hofstra, agency: Gross Zeev ISA) replied with 19 points and 7 rebounds and American point guard Willie Warren (193-89, college: Oklahoma, agency: Interperformances) added 20 points in the effort for Maccabi Rishon. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Hapoel J-M maintains seventh position with 4-4 record. Maccabi Rishon at the other side keeps the fifth place with three games lost. Hapoel J-M's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Maccabi Haifa at home and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Maccabi Rishon will play against Ironi Ashkelon.
