There was no surprise when 9th ranked Basket Esch (3-8) was defeated at home by second ranked Amicale (9-2) 72-68. Basket Esch was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Amicale made 16-of-19 charity shots (84.2 percent) during the game. International Samy Picard (196-88) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points. American forward Lee Fisher (195-89, college: Chicago St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. International Martin Rajniak (204-78, college: CSU Bakersfield) answered with 18 points and 7 rebounds and American guard Jibril Hodges (188-84, college: Long Beach St.) added 16 points and 4 assists in the effort for Basket Esch. Amicale have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 9-2 record behind leader Sparta. Basket Esch at the other side keeps the ninth position with eight games lost. Amicale will play against league's leader Sparta in Bertrange in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
