Important game to mention about took place in Doha. Fourth ranked Al Jaysh (6-2) saved a 1-point derby victory at home edging 6th ranked Qatar Sports Club (3-5) 77-76 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Qatar Sports Club. Al Jaysh dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Qatar Sports Club's 36. They outrebounded Qatar Sports Club 53-32 including a 22-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for international forward Baker Ahmad Mohammed (199-86) who saved his team from a defeat with 31 points and 9 rebounds. Naturalized Lebanese point guard Fadi Abilmoni Hani (184) contributed with 16 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners. American swingman Chauncey Leslie (183-81, college: Iowa) answered with 28 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and Cameroonian forward Gaston Moliva (202-85, college: Richmond) added 16 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Qatar Sports Club. Al Jaysh moved-up to third place, which they share with Al Arabi. Qatar Sports Club at the other side keeps the sixth position with five games lost.
