Seventeenth-ranked Lagun Aro GBC (1-9) gave a tough game to sixth ranked Caja Laboral (7-3) in San Sebastian. The visitors from Vitoria managed to secure only two-point victory 71-69. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests were ahead by 1 point but lost the second period ending it with a 3-point deficit before their 14-9 run, which allowed them to win the game. Caja Laboral dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Lagun Aro GBC's 22. They outrebounded Lagun Aro GBC 38-26 including 16 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Italian-Argentinian Andres Nocioni (199-79) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds. Serbian-Montenegrin power forward Milko Bjelica (205-84, agency: Beo Basket) contributed with 7 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. point guard Javier Salgado (180-80) replied with 27 points and 5 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and Nigerian-American forward Ekenechukwu Ibekwe (210-85, college: Maryland) added 16 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Lagun Aro GBC. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Caja Laboral moved-up to fourth place, which they share with G.Canaria 2014. Lagun Aro GBC lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with nine games lost. Caja Laboral's next round opponent will be UCAM Murcia (#13) on the road and are hoping to win another game.
