Regular Season Round 11: Bourges - Nantes 66-55

Rather expected game when 5th ranked Nantes Reze (6-5) was defeated on the road by second ranked Bourges (8-3) 66-55 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Bourges. Nantes Reze managed to win third quarter 16-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Bourges won last quarter 20-10. They made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was international guard Celine Dumerc (169-82) who scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. International center Emmeline Ndongue (192-83) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds. Four Bourges players scored in double figures. Bourges' coach Valerie Garnier used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Latvian forward Gunta Basko (181-80, college: Siena, agency: Josep and Nicolas) produced 16 points and 5 rebounds and the former international power forward Marielle Amant (190-89) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Defending champion maintains second place with 8-3 record having just two points less than leader Lattes Montp., which they share with Perpignan. Nantes Reze lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. They share it with Landes and Mondeville. Bourges will meet at home Mondeville (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Nantes Reze will play against Arras and hope to secure a win.
