Regular Season Round 8: Burgos - Perfumerias 62-64

The most exciting game of round 8 in the LFB took place in Burgos. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 6th ranked Jopisa Burgos (3-4) to third ranked Perfumerias Avenida (5-2) 64-62 on Sunday evening. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 64-62. Perfumerias Avenida forced 22 Jopisa Burgos turnovers. The best player for the winners was American center Le'Coe Willingham (183-81, college: Auburn, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. The former international swingman Marta Fernandez (178-81) chipped in 13 points and 4 steals. Perfumerias Avenida's coach Alberto Miranda used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American Rachel Allison (185-87, college: Baylor) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds and center Laura Gil (190-92, agency: Josep and Nicolas) added 17 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Perfumerias Avenida moved-up to second place, which they share with Uni Girona. Jopisa Burgos lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the sixth position with four games lost. They share it with Gran Canaria and UNB Obenasa. Perfumerias Avenida is looking forward to face Conquero (#10) in Huelva in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Jopisa Burgos will play on the road against Argon Uni Girona (#3) and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
