Regular Season Round 10: Acea Virtus RM - Cimberio VA 91-87

The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated Cimberio Varese (9-1) on the court of sixth ranked Lottomatica Roma on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Lottomatica Roma 91-87. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Cimberio Varese. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Cimberio Varese won third quarter 20-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lottomatica Roma forced 22 Cimberio Varese turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Nigerian power forward Gani Lawal (205-88, college: Georgia Tech) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!). American point guard Jordan Taylor (185-89, college: Wisconsin) contributed with 17 points and 6 assists for the winners. American point guard Mike Green (185-85, college: Butler) replied with 20 points and 6 assists and his fellow American import guard Adrian Banks (191-86, college: NW Mississippi CC) added 19 points and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws) in the effort for Cimberio Varese. Five Lottomatica Roma and four Cimberio Varese players scored in double figures. Lottomatica Roma (6-4) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Cantu and SAIE3 BO. Cimberio Varese at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. Lottomatica Roma is looking forward to face Air Avellino (#15) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Cimberio Varese will play against Sutor Montegranaro (#12) and is hoping to win this game.
