Regular Season Round 22: JX Sunflowers - Toyota B SR 90-68

WJBL top team - JX Sunflowers (20-0) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Toyota B SR (6-14) in Kashiwa 90-68. The game was mostly controlled by JX Sunflowers. Toyota B SR managed to win second period 22-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. JX Sunflowers dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Toyota B SR's 20. They outrebounded Toyota B SR 48-21 including a 32-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international power forward Ramu Tokashiki (191-91) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points, 17 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 12-of-13 shooting from the field). The former international power forward Yuka Mamiya (185-90) contributed with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Sari Osabe (174-87) replied with 6 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and swingman Mao Okada (166-88) added 19 points in the effort for Toyota B SR. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. JX Sunflowers have an impressive 20-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 20-0 record. Newly promoted Toyota B SR keeps the ninth place with 14 games lost. JX Sunflowers are looking forward to face Niigata (#6) in Tokyo in the next round where they are favorite. Toyota B SR will play at home against Toyota A. in Nagoya and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
