No shocking result in a game when third ranked Montepaschi Siena (8-2) crushed at home 11th ranked Air Avellino (3-7) 101-65 on Monday. The game without a history. Montepaschi Siena led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. Montepaschi Siena looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Air Avellino's players. It was a very good performance for American point guard Bobby Brown (188-84, college: CS Fullerton) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 8 assists. Estonian Kristjan Kangur (201-82) contributed with 22 points for the winners. Four Montepaschi Siena players scored in double figures. Montepaschi Siena's coach Luca Banchi felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Mustafa Shakur (193-84, college: Arizona) replied with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and his fellow American import swingman Jeremy Richardson (200-84, college: Delta St.) added 14 points in the effort for Air Avellino. Montepaschi Siena have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Banco di Sard. Loser Air Avellino keeps the eleventh position with seven games lost. Montepaschi Siena will face Vanoli Cremona (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Air Avellino will play against Lottomatica Roma.
