Regular Season Round 9: Valga - Tarvas 67-69

Sixth-ranked Valga (5-7) made lots of trouble for second ranked BC Rakvere (11-4) on Tuesday. The visitors from Rakvere managed to secure only two-point victory 69-67. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Valga won third quarter 15-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was naturalized American forward Renato Lindmets (200-84, college: Westfield St.) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds. American guard Brandis Raley-Ross (188-87, college: S.Carolina) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Joonas Jarvelainen (202-90) who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and Latvian center Raitis Grafs (208-81, college: Valparaiso) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively. BC Rakvere have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain second place with 11-4 record having just -4 points less than leader TU/Rock. Valga lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with seven games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
