Regular Season Round 8: Hod Hasharon - Hapoel Kazrin 82-56
Date: December 4, 2012
Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Hapoel Kazrin (3-5) was rolled over on the road by sixth ranked Hod Hasharon (6-2) 82-56 on Tuesday. The game without a history. Hod Hasharon led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Hod Hasharon outrebounded Hapoel Kazrin 39-27 including 29 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Eran Asante Asare (194-88, agency: Gross Zeev ISA) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and Nigerian power forward Chukwudinma Odiakosa (203-85, college: Illinois St., agency: N.E.T.) who added 17 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Four Hod Hasharon players scored in double figures. American guard Lawrence Westbrook (183-88, college: Minnesota) responded with 22 points and naturalized Russian power forward Anton Kazarnovski (205-85) scored 7 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Hod Hasharon moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Hapoel Kazrin lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth position with five games lost. Hod Hasharon will face Elitzur Ramla (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hapoel Kazrin will play against Ironi Nahariya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
