LNBP top team - Halcones UV Xalapa (25-4) had no problems winning another game on Thursday. This time they crushed sixteenth ranked Gigantes (2-27) 101-79. The game was mostly controlled by Halcones UV Xalapa. Gigantes managed to win second period 29-26. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Halcones UV Xalapa looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Gigantes' players. The best player for the winners was American guard LeRoy Hickerson (196-82, college: Cumberlands) who scored 25 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. International guard Orlando Mendez-Valdez (185-86, college: W.Kentucky) chipped in 19 points and 5 assists. Four Halcones UV Xalapa players scored in double figures. Halcones UV Xalapa's coach Angel Gonzalez felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Jermaine Johnson (201-85, college: Charleston, agency: Interperformances) produced 25 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import forward Antonio Grant (198-76, college: S.Carolina, agency: Interperformances) added 20 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests.
