Regular Season Round 29: Panteras - Gansos 117-91
Date: December 6, 2012
Fifth ranked Panteras (21-8) crushed at home 15th ranked Gansos (5-25) by 26 points 117-91, which is the biggest margin this round. The game was mostly controlled by Panteras. Gansos was better in third quarter 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Panteras shot 60.8 percent from the field. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Gansos' players. The former international swingman Jorge Alfredo Casillas (196-90) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Puerto Rican point guard Ricardo Melendez (179-83, agency: Paris Global Sports) contributed with 25 points for the winners. Four Panteras players scored in double figures. American guard Shannon Shorter (193-89, college: N.Texas) answered with 34 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and the other American import swingman Royce Gaye (193-88, college: Tex.A&M-Kingsv.) added 25 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Gansos. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Panteras have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain fifth place with 21-8 record. Newly promoted Gansos keep the fifteenth position with 25 games lost. Panteras' next round opponent will be Guerreros (#13) and are hoping to win another game. Gansos will play against Barreteros in Zacatecas.
